As a philosophy Stoicism is meant to be practiced daily as a means of self improvement. The Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius kept a daily journey in which he would write his shortcomings and thoughts famously known as Meditations.
Can an ancient philosophy developed under completely different conditions be applied to our modern lives with all its unique distractions? Does this calm attained through the practice of Stoicism then allow us to rethink, reshape the social fabric of society through our daily interactions to our fellow beings?
